Reflection

Synopsis

A seemingly ordinary woman is unsatisfied with her mundane life and begins to experience dream-like flashbacks of another lifetime in a déjà vu fashion. In her visions, she is a golden-age starlet living a glamorous life of fortune and fame in 1930s Hollywood.

Our Review

Everything about Alyssa N Myers Reflection is a perfection. Right for the sunlight partially falling on the protagonist to the dust that she wipes of the photo frame are commendable. Animation is brilliant and the visual experience is a treat in true sense. Background music is perfect reflecting the mood. The focus moves in for an intimate closeup while our star is deep in thought that seems to take her someplace far away, to a place that's closer to her heart. The unfolding of emotions are beautifully portrayed.

“a small story power packed with everything to reflect upon"

Director Biography - Alyssa N Myers Alyssa is an artist of many interests with a background in graphic design, computer programming, and animation. Having the ability to think both creatively and critically has helped her to become an excellent problem solver. Director Statement The past has unceasingly haunted me all my life. The reason that this challenge appears in this project is that it tends to be the question in the back of my mind each day. No matter the circumstance, I miss the self I once was despite whether I was truly happy at that moment. The present never appeals quite as much as what is now gone.
