My Favorite Killer (Short Film Screenplay)

Updated: Feb 27, 2023

Synopsis:

A girl who hosts a popular podcast about serial killers has an unexpected encounter.

Our Review

This script is a masterclass in suspenseful storytelling, with a smooth flow of scenes that keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The mystery surrounding the enigmatic Mr. X thickens the plot without ever revealing too much, creating a thrilling sense of intrigue and anticipation.

The script also delves into the darker aspects of human nature, exposing the cruel attitudes of not only the murderers, but also the unwitting enthusiasts such as bloggers and social media hosts who inadvertently feed the attention-seeking desires of serial killers. The callous disregard for the lives of their victims is truly chilling.

Overall, this script has all the makings of a great short film, with a well-developed plot, compelling characters, and tight, suspenseful narrative. However, there are a few gaps that need to be addressed, such as why Sophie follows Mr. X and why the girl in the last scene freezes upon seeing him. With a bit of work, this script has the potential to become a truly memorable film.
