Our Review
The magic shoe is an outstanding short film especially as the traditional method of hand-drawn animation are far and few between. Jaw-dropping detail and to the painstaking efforts taken by animator are absolutely commendable. Every scene is a gem which embarks an imprint on your mind. The soundtrack is remarkably touching as it brings imaginary, dreamy, surreal and otherworldly feelings with mixed-emotion. Each and every frame of art in the film is an image that you would want to be framed on your wall.
Director Biography - Florian Guillaume Short movie Director and Producer based in London, UK, Florian likes to push the boundaries with different animation techniques and the thought-provoking content of his films. Florian directed The Magic Shoe 3 that went to 13 international festivals.
Director Statement The Magic Shoe 4 builds on 3’s story, and was mainly inspired by my time as a recreational diver and witnessing the gradual degradation of the marine ecosystem. The feeling of life-erosion is predominant in this movie. The ink that is used to direct and capture our life will inevitably fade away.
