Blooper Reel

Through government-secured footage, we chronicle the spread of a mysterious, hilarious illness amongst the cast and crew of a student film.

Director Biography - Mitch F. Anderson Mitch F. Anderson is a recent graduate of Grand Valley State University, holding a BA in Film/Video Production. He was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on October 20th, 1994, then grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula before attending college in Grand Rapids, MI. His passions include writing, film, comedy, and music. He has diverse work experience in both creative and labor-based jobs, and is a focused worker, a quick learner, and able to both work in a team and act as a leader. He eventually plans to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a screenwriter and filmmaker.

Director Statement BLOOPER REEL is my final project as an undergraduate film school student, and my attempt to address the toxic mindset that seems to form in this period of creative work amongst film students, and metastasis within the professional filmmaking environment. Mixing comedy and horror, I hope to address the toxicity of the "art above all else" mindset amongst filmmakers that spreads throughout a set and at best leads to on-set stress and resentment, and at worst leads to fatal accidents like the infamous TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE helicopter crash, and the 2014 death of Sarah Jones. While the subject matter may be specific, it is my hope that all viewers, regardless of familiarity with the filmmaking process, can respond to this concept, find something to laugh at (and/or squirm at) in our film, and think about what it means afterwards.
